1. WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

The Services are for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

Personal information you disclose to us

In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.

We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you register on the Services, express an interest in obtaining information about us or our products and Services, when you participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise when you contact us.

Personal Information Provided by You. The personal information that we collect depends on the context of your interactions with us and the Services, the choices you make, and the products and features you use. The personal information we collect may include the following:

  • names
  • phone numbers
  • email addresses
  • usernames
  • dates of birth and gender
  • photos, including your profile photo and photos you take with the in-app event camera
  • messages you send in event group chats
  • quiz responses and other onboarding answers
  • location information and saved preference settings
  • event interaction history and recommendation preferences

Depending on the features you use, this may include information you provide when you pre-register, create an account, submit quiz answers (including any free-text responses), save location or radius settings, and record event interests or similar preference signals in the app.

Photos. Your profile photo is visible to other members. Photos you take with the in-app event camera are visible to that event's confirmed members once the event has ended, and on your public profile if you choose to save them there.

Group Chat Messages. Messages you send in an event's group chat are stored by our chat provider, and their text is also archived in our own database, where it is kept after the event's chat closes.

Sensitive Information. Depending on what you choose to provide, some profile details or quiz responses may be considered sensitive personal information in certain jurisdictions. Where we process such information, we do so only as permitted by applicable law and for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

Sign-In Data. You can create an account with your phone number, with Sign in with Apple, or with Google. If you use Apple or Google, we receive limited information from that provider, as described in the section called "HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?" below.

Application Data. If you use our application(s), we also may collect the following information if you choose to provide us with access or permission:

  • Geolocation Information. We may request access or permission to track location-based information from your mobile device, either continuously or while you are using our mobile application(s), to provide certain location-based services. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device's settings.
  • Contacts. If you choose to find friends from your address book, we check the phone numbers in it against R3ACH accounts and do not store them. Contact names never leave your device. You may change this permission at any time in your device's settings.

If you pre-register or submit quiz responses before creating a full account, we may store the email address you provide together with those responses so we can support your account, personalize the Services, and make the app function as intended.

All personal information that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information.

Information automatically collected

In Short: Some information — such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address and basic device information — is collected automatically when you use our Services.

We automatically collect certain information when you visit, use, or navigate the Services. This information does not reveal your specific identity (like your name or contact information) but may include device and usage information, such as your IP address, device type and operating system, app version, location, information about how and when you use our Services, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes.

The information we collect includes:

  • Location Data. We collect location data such as information about your device's location, which can be either precise or imprecise. How much information we collect depends on the type and settings of the device you use to access the Services. For example, we may use GPS and other technologies to collect geolocation data that tells us your current location. We may also store your saved location preferences, such as your chosen radius and related recommendation settings. You can opt out of allowing us to collect this information either by refusing access to the information or by disabling your Location setting on your device. However, if you choose to opt out, you may not be able to use certain aspects of the Services.

In Short: We only process your personal information when we believe it is necessary and we have a valid legal reason (i.e., legal basis) to do so under applicable law, like with your consent, to comply with laws, to provide you with services to enter into or fulfill our contractual obligations, to protect your rights, or to fulfill our legitimate business interests.

We may process your information if you have given us specific permission (i.e., express consent) to use your personal information for a specific purpose, or in situations where your permission can be inferred (i.e., implied consent). You can withdraw your consent at any time.

5. DO WE OFFER ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE-BASED PRODUCTS?

In Short: We offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies.

As part of our Services, we offer products, features, or tools powered by artificial intelligence, machine learning, or similar technologies (collectively, "AI Products"). These tools are designed to enhance your experience and provide you with innovative solutions. The terms in this Privacy Policy govern your use of the AI Products within our Services.

Our AI Products

Our AI Products are designed for the following functions:

  • Natural language processing
  • Recommendation and matching insights

How We Process Your Data Using AI

All personal information processed using our AI Products is handled in line with our Privacy Policy and our agreement with third parties. This ensures high security and safeguards your personal information throughout the process, giving you peace of mind about your data's safety.

This may include processing quiz responses and related profile or preference information to generate recommendation or matching signals within the Services.

Two of these features are visible to you directly. The short "About You" line on your profile is generated from your quiz answers and is shown to other members who can see your profile. And if you upload a photo to fill in the details of an event you are creating, that photo is sent to Google to read the event details from it.

6. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?

In Short: If you sign in with Apple or Google, the only profile information we receive from that provider is your name and email address.

You can create an account with your phone number, with Sign in with Apple, or with Google. If you sign in with Apple or Google, the only profile information we receive from that provider is the name and email address on the account — no friends list and no profile picture — and we use it only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

We do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by Apple or Google. We recommend that you review their privacy notices to understand how they collect, use, and share your personal information.

No purpose in this policy will require us keeping your personal information for longer than is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us by using the contact details provided in the section "HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS POLICY?" below.

10. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected.

At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized.

As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online.

If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Policy.

11. DO WE MAKE UPDATES TO THIS POLICY?

In Short: Yes, we will update this policy as necessary to stay compliant with relevant laws.

The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy.

13. HOW CAN YOU REVIEW, UPDATE, OR DELETE THE DATA WE COLLECT FROM YOU?

Based on the applicable laws of your country, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we collect from you, details about how we have processed it, correct inaccuracies, or delete your personal information.

You may also have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.

To request to review, update, or delete your personal information, including quiz responses, profile data, and saved location or preference settings, please email support@r3ach.app. To delete your account entirely, or to request deletion without the app installed, follow the steps at r3ach.app/delete-account: in-app deletion is instant, and emailed requests are completed within 30 days.

When an account is deleted, we remove the profile details (name, username, date of birth, gender), phone number, email address, quiz answers, saved location, friendships, event participation, and group memberships, and we revoke the sign-in. The account record itself survives as an anonymized placeholder, and we keep a minimal deletion record — including the former username and sign-in identifier — together with moderation and audit records, for security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. Messages sent in group chats remain visible to those groups, attributed to "Deleted user".
